What is a Sauna Alarm?
A sauna alarm is a call system commonly known as a "sauna emergency button" or "panic button." It's crucial not to confuse this system with a fire or smoke alarm; saunas are inherently hot and often steamy environments, rendering standard smoke detectors unsuitable. The primary purpose of a sauna alarm is to allow the user inside to consciously signal for help when needed.
These systems typically consist of a high-heat-resistant button installed inside the sauna cabin and an audible and visual receiver placed outside the cabin (e.g., at a reception desk, spa control room, or main hallway of a home). When a user presses the button, the external receiver activates, alerting staff or household members.
What Does a Sauna Alarm Do?
A sauna alarm serves two fundamental functions: primarily and most importantly, it signals user-initiated emergencies; secondly, in some advanced systems, it notifies of technical malfunctions.
What Are the Types of Sauna Alarms?
Sauna alarms vary based on their operating principles and triggering methods.
Why Are Alarm Systems Mandatory for Commercial Saunas?
While alarm systems might be a matter of preference for home-use personal saunas, they are a legal requirement for commercial establishments such as hotels, gyms, spas, and public facilities.
What is a sauna alarm?
